“Re-imagine and challenge the ‘self’ via DANCE” ~La reina Taína

CÁMO performs her first solo Theatre and Dance Performance at Passaic City’s 2nd Annual Pride. CÁMO made “lemonade” by taking the cards she was dealt with in life and turning them into a self-healing and liberating performance. She combines poetry, choreography, music production, theatre production, and fashion to share her narrative of being a DV and SV survivor, exploring her gender and sexuality, and becoming one with spiritualism and her Taíno culture.

Titled “C.T.C.”, CÁMO’s performance is a three-act performance with a spoken word piece as the prologue. She poses a question for each act to facilitate self-reflection as her personal mission is to “re-imagine and challenge the ‘self’ via art”. ACT": 1 What is weighing on your life right now? ACT II: How does intimidation shape your life? ACT III: How does control exist in your life? Is it a positive, negative, or neutral presence?
